Workshop Overview:

Javid Tabatabaei is a world class master of watercolors, and has been a prolific artist and teacher for more than 20 years. In his one-day workshop Javid will introduce participants to the materials he uses including the watercolour paints, papers, and brushes. From there, Javid will walk students through the technique he uses to prepare his watercolour paper before starting to paint beautiful landscape scenes into existence. Participants will learn how to paint vibrant skies, dynamic water and convincing houses.   

Javid's workshop is open to all levels.

About the Instructor - Javid Tabatabaei 

Javid Tabatabaei is a world class master of watercolours, and has been a prolific artist and teacher for more than 20 years. With a vast résumé of solo and group exhibitions around the globe (China, Turkey, Italy,  Pakistan, Japan, Serbia, Canada, etc.), he has extended his passion for painting into teaching both in-person and online classes. 

Javid's work explores a variety of genres, including rural and urban landscapes, seascapes, the human figure, still life and abstraction. With a strong emphasis on composition, gesture, and layering translucent colour, his paintings seem to capture the elusive, suggesting movement and aliveness.

Javid is a brand ambassador of Rock Well Art Supplies Inc., has twice been a jury member for the international watercolour society of Turkey. As the recipient of numerous awards and prizes, and part of international collections, Javid is a sought after artist and instructor.
