Thursday, May 15th
6.00 PM - 8.00 PM (PDT)
Online via Zoom
Seminar Overview:
The image quality from today’s mobile phones successfully meets the needs for most applications an artist may need to support their practice: website, social media, marketing, submissions and more. This 2-hour seminar will provide technical and practical advice to enable artists to use this ubiquitous technology and achieve successful, high quality photographs of their artwork.
Starting with the planning process, participants will learn about setting up a space in their home or studio, what to look for in phones and other equipment, and some of the most popular photo-applications such as Snapseed and Moment. We will also work through the steps of a successful shooting session and discuss challenges that can arise including
consistent and accurate colour, perspective control, cropping and glare.
Note: This seminar is an encore of David's seminar presented in June 2024
Members: $75.00
Non-Members: $80.00

Thursday, May 22nd
6.00 PM - 8.00 PM (PDT)
Online via Zoom
Note: This seminar (level 2) is restricted to 20 participants
Seminar Overview:
This will be a practical, action-focused class. We will get into greater detail about colour calibration, preserving highlight and shadow detail, and other challenges the participants may have encountered or anticipate.
Important notes for students on Part 2:
• Before May 19, students should email the instructor the software application they selected so he can be prepared.
• Students will preferably have attended Part 1 and made some photographs of their artwork during the week between classes.
• They could also attend from their shooting space, being as prepared as possible, and engage in the shooting process during the class.
• Students will also be expected to download the capture software application(s) of their choice and have at least a passing understanding of how it works - this will not be a detailed class on basic device management skills.
