Interactive Online Critiques:

To get to that “next level” you’ll sometimes need the constructive feedback of an experienced critic/fellow artist to drive your work forward. Critiques will help you grow as an artist and help you develop your work. Hear what is working in your art and ask for input on your current challenges. You’ll receive an overall evaluation of your artwork's strengths and weaknesses and a clear idea of how to move forward with your art by FCA Associate Member Lynda Baxter.

About Lynda Baxter, AFCA: 

Lynda Baxter is inspired by her surroundings! She paints Alberta's landscape and farm animals using the neighbouring livestock as her never-ending source of inspiration! She can always be found traveling the backroads, camera ready, looking for that perfect shot! She loves to paint cattle, particularly highland cattle. Clydesdale horses, bison, roosters, chickens, and of course the rural landscape that surrounds us are also high on her list of subjects to paint.

Lynda loved to draw when she was growing up, and started to paint using watercolour in her early 20's. It was 35 years before she returned to art again. Her mom had some Grumbacher pastels from the 1950's. She asked if she wanted to try them. Yes, she did! She has never looked back. That set of 48 sticks has grown to an embarrassing amount of soft pastels now. The medium is spectacular and she couldn’t be happier learning more about them with each painting she does.

This year Lynda achieved Master Pastelist Signature Designation with Pastel Artists of Canada, and she is now an Associate Member with the Federation of Canadian Artists.

How to register:

Using the submission on artists.ca, upload up to two images of your work for the Online Critique Session by no later than Monday, December 9th. The critique is limited to 10 participants, so please submit early in order to secure your spot.

Critique fee:

$35 (members) / $40 (non-members) + 5% GST

After enrolling you will receive an emailed invoice. Please keep this for your records. Closer to the critique date, you will be sent an email with further instructions and a link to the interactive online platform.
