FCA Plein Air Event: 

Don't miss this unique opportunity to paint with fellow artists at the tranquil Duck Pond on Granville Island, Vancouver, BC. 

This idyllic pond, surrounded by willow trees, vibrant flowers, and diverse vegetation, offers a peaceful retreat for painters. Watch as ducks playfully glide across the water and turtles bask on sunlit rocks, creating an inspiring scene for both artists and nature lovers. A small dock extends into the water, adding to the picturesque charm of this serene spot. 

Bring your easels, brushes, and creativity to capture the beauty of this natural haven. Whether you're an experienced painter or just beginning, this setting is sure to spark your imagination.

The FCA Plein Air Paint Out aims to celebrate the joy of painting outside, giving our members an opportunity to network and socialize with fellow artists who enjoy creating outside just as much. Open to all painters of any media.

There will be no formal instruction, but members are encouraged to share their techniques/tips and experiences. 

General Supply List:

• Lightweight easel 
• Small folding stool
• Apron or paint shirt 
• Sun hat 
• Drinking water
• Backpack, box or trolley to carry your supplies
• Small sketchbook 
• Pencils, eraser, sharpener 
• Substrate - your substrate of choice (primed boards, canvases, paper etc.) 
• Paints - your medium of choice  
• Brushes
• Rags or paper towels/blue shop towels 
• Palette 
• Garbage bags
• Water or solvent container
• Medium/retarder
• Sunscreen/bug repellent 
• Viewfinder
• Camera

Clothing - Vancouver weather can change from sunny to wet, hot to cold—all in a single day. Therefore, it's essential to have both rainwear and sun gear. Be sure to pack clothing suitable for any weather, along with bug spray, sunscreen, and, of course, your preferred painting gear. 

How to register:

There is no cost to join us and paint, however, registration is required and limited to 30 people for this Paint Out event at Granville Island Duck Pond. Therefore, please make sure to sign-up early! 

You can register in one of three ways:

1. Online: Visit the registration website.
2. By Phone: Call 604-681-2744.
3. In-Person: Visit the Federation Gallery, open 7 days a week from 10 AM to 4 PM.

Registration is free but limited to 30 people, so it's advisable to register early!
