Situated in the town of Bamfield, within the traditional territory of the Huu-ay-aht First Nation in Barkley Sound, and adjacent the Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, the Bamfield Marine Sciences Centre offers unparalleled access to a wide array of environments - including unique coastal, marine and rainforest habitats and exceptional species diversity.
Perched on the outer west coast of Vancouver Island, BMSC provides access to a remarkable diversity of marine, terrestrial, freshwater and cultural sites of the North East Pacific basin.

Each student will be assigned to a painting group at the start of the retreat. You'll have the chance to paint with all three Master Instructors (Brent Lynch, Charlie Easton, Maria Josenhans) during your stay.
There will be ample opportunity to paint in your group and by yourself, receive training from our excellent instructors, and socialize with fellow artists in the evenings.
Accommodation
Buchanan lodge will be our home base for the 2024 retreat.
Each room is shared occupancy, two to a room. If you'd like to share your room with a friend or family member, be sure to mention it upon making your booking or email education@artists.ca with your room share request.
Included in the price of the retreat, in addition to four days of instruction and accommodation, are all your meals, snacks, and coffee and tea.
