ONline DRAWING: FROM MASTERCOPY TO MASTERFUL INTERPRETATIONS

    Course Information

    Thursdays (6 sessions),

    March 13th - April 17th, 2025

    10.00 AM - 1.00 PM (PDT)

    Online Via Zoom

    Workshop Overview (6 Sessions):

Our artistic heritage is largely built upon the legacy of the forefathers of western art.

Their figurative masterworks remain iconic examples for us to learn from. Through

analysis we develop our visual understanding. Through imitation, we grow and stretch

our creative ability and artistic voice.

In this 6 WEEK TRADITIONAL DRAWING WORKSHOP, you will first tour great

museums and collections and learn to interpret, design and express your artistic voice in

new and different ways. Then, using similar life resources, you will stand in the

proverbial shoes of great masters to stretch beyond your comfort zone to iron out

solutions to complex visual challenges. In this culturally rich program you will enjoy

learning valuable drawing skills and acquaint yourself quite intimately with great masters.

Join the Mark Anthony Traditional Drawing Workshop entitled: FROM MASTERCOPY

TO MASTERFUL INTERPRETATIONS FROM LIFE. All 6 sessions will include full

demonstrations from a blank page. Artists of all levels are welcome to join this hands-on

    workshop.

About the Instructor - Mark Anthony

For over 30 years, Mark Anthony's great passion for artistic tradition complimented with his own strong European roots has lead him into a career in representational drawing based on the poetic charm of the old-world European studio. His professional history includes owning and operating a small Alberta based portrait studio/gallery, working with private, historical and municipal heritage projects, and teaching hundreds of students of all levels in the grand tradition of observational and classical drawing. Currently, Mark teaches regular classes in fundamental studies, traditional drawing and portraiture, on the North Shore.

    Student Testimonials:

    • "My thanks for a practical and enjoyable workshop. Mark's teaching greatly enhanced my ability to draw. He is a very skilled artist and a competent teacher."

    • "I true have no suggestions for improvement. Mark organized good examples  presented with knowledge and enthusiasm. I am left wanting to study further. I am amazed to have been given so very much in 4 lessons on a subject that is so involved. I’m thankful and feel privileged to have been able to take this course through Zoom as I live in central BC and would not have been able to otherwise. Thank You to Mark and Thank You FCA for the opportunity."

    • "Keep teaching. This is the best drawing course I have ever attended. Would like more time to work with the instructor."

    • "I so enjoyed Mark’s personality and his charm. I just enjoyed the whole workshop."
