Seminar Overview:
The Care and Feeding of the Creative’s Mental Health Creative practice often involves numerous stressors that may inhibit one’s work and degrade one’s mental health. The focus of this 2-hour workshop is to introduce practices artists may incorporate into their life to support their own mental health. Learn about and experience supportive mental health practices that can help prevent burn out, reduce stress, and recover from creative blocks. (This workshop is for educational purposes only, and should not be considered to be therapy.)
About the Instructor - Laurel Swenson
Laurel Swenson is a Registered Clinical Counsellor who operates Mindsight Counselling, a
private practice in Vancouver, BC. Laurel predominantly serves the 2SLGBTQIA+ and creative communities, helping clients gain more self-awareness and ability to care for their mental health. After 10+ year painting practice prior to becoming a therapist, she knows from the inside many of the struggles and stresses of creative practice. Laurel’s goal is to help people feel better, live more fully, and feel more empowered to take care of their own mental wellness.
