Sunday 22nd June - Arrival Day

5.00 PM - Registration Opens

7.00 PM - Evening orientation, Meet and Greet Social

Monday 23rd June - Day 2

9.00 AM - 4.00 PM - Painting in small groups with the Master Instructor

7.00 PM - Evening activity

Tuesday 24th June - Day 3

9.00 AM - 4.00 PM - Painting in small groups with the Master Instructor

7.00 PM - Evening activity

Wednesday 25th June - Day 4

9.00 AM - 4.00 PM - Painting in small groups with the Master Instructor
7.00 PM - Evening activity

Thursday 26th June - Day 5

9.00 AM - 4.00 PM - Mixed group or individual painting
Time TBD - Evening activity

Friday 27th June - Departure Day

Departure after breakfast

General Supply List*

  • Lightweight easel 
  • Small folding stool 
  • Apron or paint shirt 
  • Sun hat 
  • Drinking water
  • Backpack, box or trolley to carry your supplies
  • Small sketchbook 
  • Pencils, eraser, sharpener 
  • Primed boards or canvases
  • Paints - oils or acrylics 
  • Brushes
  • Rags or paper towels/blue shop towels 
  • Palette (wet for oils, spritzer for acrylics) 
  • Garbage bags
  • Water or solvent container
  • Medium/retarder
  • Sunscreen/bug repellent 
  • Viewfinder
  • Reference photos in case of rain 
  • Camera


Clothing - East Coast weather can be sunny, cold and wet - all on the same day - so rain-wear and gumboots are a must have. Similarly an umbrella for your easel would also be beneficial, but not mandatory.


*  Instructor Supply Lists available for download at the bottom of this page. Please keep in mind that these lists are provided as recommendations. If you are an experienced plein air painter, just bring your usual supplies. If you have any supply questions please contact the Federation office at 604-681-2744.
