Online Drawing Workshop: Anatomy with Mark Anthony

    Course Information

    Wednesdays & Thursdays (4 sessions),

    Jul 30-31, Aug 6-7, 2025

    10.00 AM - 1.00 PM (PDT)

    Online Via Zoom

    All sessions are recorded!

    Workshop Overview (4 Sessions):

Each time Mark teaches a workshop or series of classes, students seem most fascinated with drawing demonstrations involving the insertion of anatomical features of the figure and head. There is no way around it. Understanding how this marvelous machine, made of articulating joints and contracting muscles, translates into poetic beauty is artistically inspiring.

The human figure can be overwhelming, considering its beauty and complexity. How did these masters engineer their work to create accuracy, eloquent beauty and relative simplicity or efficiency of line? For example, Rembrandt stands out as an iconic master of direct drawing and insightful understanding with unmatched depth, as does Raphael and Rubens, Prud'hon, Tiepolo, and others.

Beginning with Albinus and Houdon, we will unravel this amazing drawing workshop series like the 15th and 16th century morgue-raiders. And, in the end, you will learn the powerful effect this time honored study brings to your artwork.

    Student Testimonials:

    • "My thanks for a practical and enjoyable workshop. Mark's teaching greatly enhanced my ability to draw. He is a very skilled artist and a competent teacher."

    • "I true have no suggestions for improvement. Mark organized good examples  presented with knowledge and enthusiasm. I am left wanting to study further. I am amazed to have been given so very much in 4 lessons on a subject that is so involved. I’m thankful and feel privileged to have been able to take this course through Zoom as I live in central BC and would not have been able to otherwise. Thank You to Mark and Thank You FCA for the opportunity."
