From Skill to Mastery recognizes that foundational tools remain essential at every stage of an artist’s career. Clear visual communication depends on a strong understanding of colour, value, composition, and design—skills that, at an intermediate or advanced level, are refined, integrated, and applied with intention rather than relearned.
The Intermediate/Advanced Program - From Skill to Mastery consists of six sessions led by six Master Instructors, each concentrating on a core foundational concept viewed through a professional lens. Together, these sessions provide a high-level framework for assessing your current skill set, identifying gaps, and recognizing opportunities for growth within your personal practice.
Developed collaboratively by the FCA’s Master Instructors, From Skill to Mastery is a cohesive and progressive program designed to meet the needs of practicing artists who are ready to deepen their understanding and strengthen their work.

Levels: Suitable for Foundations Program Graduates & experienced painters with a strong foundation
